Trent 9, Darwin 2: Liverpool player ratings in Fulham thriller

Liverpool defeated Fulham 4-3 at Anfield in a game full of twists and turns. Here's how we rated the players.

Trent: 9/10. Scored an absolute worldie of a goal to break the deadlock and then won the game for the Reds with an excellent effort from the edge of the box. Caught off position for Fulham's equaliser and overall not very convincing defensively but hey, he brought us two goals today.

Endo: 8. No one expected it from him but he was Liverpool's impact sub today, equalising after the Reds went 3-2 down.

Mac Allister: 7.5. Brilliant strike to score Liverpool's second goal of the game. This is his first goal for the Reds and he did it in the best possible style. Not particularly efficient defensively as Fulham found it easy to play through the middle and create chances.

Tsimikas: 7. A low-key good display, got involved up front as much as he could and kept the opposition forwards in check defensively. However, could have done better contesting the header when Fulham scored their third goal.

Salah: 6.5. Great playmaking from Mo on several occasions, assisted Endo and should have had one or two more. Unfortunately didn't get into scoring positions.

Gakpo: 6.5. Brought on to play in the midfield in the second half but he should have started at centre-forward over Darwin.

Matip: 6.5. Didn't track Wilson's run properly when Fulham scored their first goal but solid in one-on-one situations. Taken off in the middle of the second half after picking up an injury.

Diaz: 6. Put in a lot of effort when got to the ball but kept quiet for most of the game. Was a bit too selfish sometimes.

Van Dijk: 6. Should have done much better in the air at the back.

Gravenberch: 5.5. Very decent in the first half an hour, crucial in moving the ball forward with his movement. Put his foot off the gas after that. Lost the ball leading to Fulham's counter-attack for their third goal and showed no urgency to try to recover the ball.

Kelleher: 4. Made us miss Alisson A LOT. Should have saved Wilson's effort if we're being honest. It's close range yes but Wilson's shot went straight at him. The same applies for the second goal, close range but the Irishman could have done much better to save it. Poor positioning for the third as well.

Darwin: 2. Should have done so much better in front of goal. Went for a pass instead of a shot too often and missed plenty of really good chances. Liverpool could have won the game comfortably if he was more clinical with his chances. And a lot of diving on top of that.

Others: Gomez, Szoboszlai, Konate 6
