'Robbo needs me': Kostas Tsimikas reflects on his competition with Andy Robertson

Kostas Tsimikas has been reflecting on Andy Robertson's absence due to injury as Liverpool get ready to host Fulham. He's determined to capitalize on this chance, ensuring that Robertson doesn't automatically return to the starting lineup once he's fit again.

"I always feel I can play. I’m not thinking when he (Robertson) is coming back, who is going to play. I need Robbo and Robbo needs me. It is not possible for one player to play all the games."

"I just take this game by game, always try to give my best to help my team get three points. For me, that’s the most important thing."

"I hope all the best for him to come back as strong as before. We will see, no-one knows. I just always try to be focused to try to do my job as best as I can and we will see."

Since Robertson's shoulder injury in October, Tsimikas has started seven of Liverpool's recent matches. Robertson underwent surgery and won't be back until the new year. Initially, Tsimikas faced challenges in form when he first joined the starting XI, as acknowledged by both himself and Jurgen Klopp.

However, the 27-year-old has found his stride, notably securing two assists against Brentford and impressing in shutting down Phil Foden during the draw against Manchester City.
