'Costing us titles': Unbelievable stat shows different standards of refereeing in Liverpool games

The disastrous Tottenham game in which all decisions went against the Reds has re-ignited the debate about referees.

Many fans are talking about the bias against Liverpool but these things are difficult to confirm.

However, a baffling stat has emerged on Twitter showing that when a team plays Liverpool, they are significantly less likely to receive a second yellow than in a regular game.

The last time a player from a team facing Liverpool received a second yellow happened 8 years, or 300 games, ago. "Every regular Premier League club has had at least FIVE [second yellows for an opposition team] at that time," writes

Curiously, Man City and Everton have also been disproportionally affected by this.

"Biggest thing for me is the stolen moments of our lives. Stolen league titles, victories, cup finals, top 4 finishes," one fan commented on Twitter.

"All robbed. Gone, impossible to get back even if you do well the next season. You’ve still lost what we would’ve had. This shit is costing us titles. Kills me."
