'We know that would be difficult': Gomez reveals what Liverpool had planned for Michail Antonio

Speaking after Liverpool’s hard-fought 3-1 win over West Ham United, Joe Gomez said: “West Ham have got great quality.

“They've got it up front and throughout the team. Michail Antonio is a big threat and we knew that was going to be difficult.

“It's a big result for us, going to 1-1 was a moment we had to reset and regroup and we did that. It's just about us staying confident and keep playing our football.”

Antonio talked some big words before the game against Liverpool, acting all cocky about his side’s chances of ousting the Reds at Anfield.

He was made to eat humble pie afterwards, dropping a stinker of a performance and leaving the game totally embarrassed.
