Liverpool picked up their third win on the spin following a 2-1 victory at the London Stadium over West Ham.
The game started ominously for the Reds with Lucas Paqueta finding the net for the hosts after 12 minutes with a brilliant effort. But Liverpool roared back through a sublime Cody Gakpo long-range strike.
Another West Ham goal was ruled out by VAR before Joel Matip latched on to a perfect corner from Andy Robertson to score the winner.
Stats show that Liverpool created twice as many big chances in the game as West Ham (2) but failed to score three of those. The Hammers also spurned their two biggest chances with Antonio and Bowen.
Diogo Jota also missed glaring opportunities for Liverpool which could've made the scoreline look a lot different but the xG (expected goal) stat for those chances was quite low.
According to xG Philosophy, West Ham's xG (expected goals) for the game stood at (0.85) while Liverpool's was 2.00.
Thus a 2-1 win for the Reds was actually the perfect result for this game.
