However, Italy won 4-2 to advance to the final of the Euro 2020.

"I tried many, many times with Liverpool, as did the Egypt FA, to persuade them to let Salah be a part of the Olympic team but they refused completely," Egypt U23 boss Shawky Gharib told the BBC.
"Mohamed wanted to play the Olympic Games 2020. He talked with me, I did my best to bring him. Salah was a key player in my Olympic plans. But the club refused - we need to move on."

The reliable transfer insider said on the eye2eyepodcast: "Renato Sanches could leave Lille for around €25m this summer. There are 4 or 5 clubs who are interested. Liverpool and Arsenal are keeping an eye on the player, but there is nothing imminent at the moment."
The young midfielder had a great Euro 2020 tournament but it remains to be seen if Liverpool do send in an official bid for the player.
