Jurgen Klopp warns Liverpool of 'exceptional player' Patrick Bamford

"Top player," Jurgen Klopp told a press conference about Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford.

"I'm pretty sure before the season I heard on talkSPORT that people said, 'Yeah, Leeds needs a proper goalscorer. Bamford is not good enough' and stuff like this. And I'm so happy that he could all prove them wrong.

"He's an exceptional player. The work-rate is outstanding, and still playing the football he plays on top of that and scoring goals. That's rare.

"They have a lot of interesting players but Bamford, I'm really happy for him. I don't know him obviously but it's a nice career, a little bit later than others, but still very impressive."

Bamford is having his first season as a starting striker in the Premier League - and he is already 27 years old.

Still, he seems at home in the top tier, scoring 14 goals in 31 games so far. The first of those goals was scored at Anfield, during Liverpool's 4-3 win on Matchday 1.
