"He was good, respectful," Aston Villa's John McGinn told Sky Sports about Andy Robertson's reaction when the two players met at the Scotland camp soon after the Villans' 7-2 win over Liverpool.
"I think he understands. He's won just about every other game over the past three or four years, so he can give us this one.
"It was a bit strange. Obviously, I didn't expect to beat the world champions so convincingly," McGinn added on the game itself.
"So confidence is high in the Villa camp and I can only try to use the confidence I have at the minute to help my country. Hopefully, I can do that."
In public, Robbo accepted the gravity of the defeat stating that the result was 'embarrassing' for the Liverpool players.
The problem is, however, that the Reds' defence has not been as good as it was last season: they've conceded more goals than any other Premier League side, bar West Bromwich. The Merseyside derby scheduled for October 17 will be a real test for Robertson & Co.
