Sevilla defender Diego Carlos is a priority signing for Jurgen Klopp if a report in Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo is to be believed.
Carlos joined Sevilla from Nantes in the summer of 2019 for €15m and is tied to the contract until the summer of 2024. The Brazilian has registered 31 appearances for his new side and scored 2 goals. His impressive performance has raised his transfer value to €32m, as per Transfermarkt.
According to the report, Jurgen Klopp sees Carlos as the 'ideal partner' for Virgil van Dijk.
However, we'd take these claims with a pinch of salt. Even if Dejan Lovren leaves in the summer, there are still two great centre-backs at Klopp's disposal to play alongside Van Dijk. A backup will be needed but perhaps Carlos, with his €32m price tag, is too expensive for that role.
