The Athletic: Nathaniel Clyne set to leave Liverpool in summer as free agent

There has been rumours that Nathaniel Clyne will leave Liverpool in January already, however, the Athletic report that the 28-year-old right-back will stay at Anfield until the end of the season.

Clyne's contract expires in June and the report claims that Nathaniel will leave the Reds as a free agent in summer.

The former Saints' right-back was set to leave Liverpool last summer before ACL injury scuppered his chances. He's been busy recovering at Melwood since. His return date is unknown although Jurgen Klopp claimed the right-back is 'in a good way'.

Nathaniel joined the Reds in 2015 for £12.5 million and was once considered one of the best fullbacks in the country. He totalled 93 appearances for the Reds before 2017/2018 when he gave way to young Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez due to a serious injury.

Since then he registered just 10 appearances for Liverpool and even went on loan to Bournemouth in 2019.

Clyne used to be a faithful servant for the Reds:
