'I've had time to look at my star': Emma Hayes responds to row with Arsenal's Jonas Eidevall by reciting a poem.

In a strange press conference before the FA Cup semi-final, Chelsea manager Emma Hayes reacted to Jonas Eidevall's remarks about her being "irresponsible." She responded in an unusual way by quoting an American poet.

Hayes said: "So at times the mob is swayed to carry praise or blame too far, we may choose somewhere like a star, to stay our minds on and be staid." This quote is taken from Frost's renowned "Choose Something like a Star" poem.

When asked to expand on the significance behind the quote, Hayes stated: "I've had a fantastic break. I've already explained an important analogy with my son and the lessons learned. And my focus is on moving forward and I've had time to look at my star."

Hayes explained: "My son said to me after the game: 'Mummy, when you push someone in school, you're asked to go and take time out'. And I told him, you know what darling, you can't meet aggression with aggression."

"All you can do is tell the teacher, explain to them why you think something is unfair, even if the players go to the teacher, the parents go to the teacher, you cannot meet aggression with aggression. I thought it was a really good conversation to have with my son after the final."
