'Like a League Two player': Roy Keane slams Haaland for his 'poor' level of play

Roy Keane criticized Erling Haaland's performance for Manchester City against Arsenal, likening it to that of a 'League Two player'.

Despite City's opportunity to surpass Arsenal in the Premier League standings at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola's team was unable to secure a victory, resulting in a goalless draw and a setback in the title race.

Haaland faced limited opportunities to score against Arsenal, as Man City found it challenging to create clear-cut chances. However, Keane was particularly unimpressed with another aspect of Haaland's game during Sunday's match.

"The level of his [Haaland] general play is so poor - not just today," Keane told Sky Sports. "He’s laying stuff off, headers or whatever it might be.

"He has to improve that. He’s almost like a League Two player - that’s the way I look at him. His general play has to improve.

"It will do over the next few years. Brilliant striker but he has to prove his overall game. [He] has to."

Haaland has netted 29 goals in 34 games for City this season in all competitions. Since coming back from injury in late January, the Norwegian player has only scored four times in the Premier League. He also scored five goals against Luton Town in the FA Cup and one against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.
