Ian Wright claims you can't talk about Man City without mentioning 'the elephant in the room'

After the Liverpool - Man City match, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher talked about the legacies of the two managers. The Arsenal legend highlighted the lingering uncertainty surrounding those connected to the defending champions.

Quoted by Dailymail.com, Ian Wright said: "We can't speak about City without speaking about the fact that there's 115 charges around them."

"The one thing I would like more than anything else is for that to be gone from City so that you can give the team and the manager the love that they deserve."

"Because when you speak about them, there's an elephant in the room. With this rivalry, you want to speak about them without saying 'yeah. but'."

"It's not fair on the players or the club so the sooner that's gone the better."

Man City faced 115 charges in February 2023, covering areas like financial info, revenue, manager and player pay, UEFA rules, profitability, and cooperation with the Premier League's investigations. They're set to defend themselves in court, but the exact date hasn't been announced yet.
