'Straight into the face': Roy Keane claims Aston Villa were lucky to avoid a penalty at Tottenham

A lot of experts talked about Aston Villa's 'lucky' moment when Diego Carlos accidentally hit Bryan Gil during the match against Tottenham.

Diego Carlos made a mistake by elbowing Bryan Gil in the face, but Tottenham's request for a penalty was turned down, even though VAR was quite busy in the game.

During halftime, Karen Carney promptly highlighted the incident: "He's elbowed him straight into the face."

Roy Keane added: "Silly boy, very, very lucky."

Michael Dawson agreed: "He puts his elbow straight into Bryan Gil's face. Why is Diego Carlos getting involved in this?"

Aston Villa were in trouble after getting three yellow cards in the first half. During halftime, boss Unai Emery decided to sub out Polish player Matty Cash because of a rough tackle on Rodrigo Bentancur, resulting in the Uruguayan being substituted off.

The game was finished with a 2-1 score in Aston Villa's favour.
