Sandro Tonali banned for 10 months over illegal betting

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tonali's suspension has been decided, and he will be banned for 10 months. This means he won't be able to play for the remainder of Newcastle's season, and if Italy qualifies, he'll also miss the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

Initially, there were talks of a possible three-year suspension, but Tonali's legal team managed to arrange a plea bargain.

While the investigation was still in progress, Tonali was allowed to play for Newcastle, and they won 4-0 against Crystal Palace. The 23-year-old displayed visible emotion as he left the field at St. James' Park.

He later appeared as a substitute in Newcastle's 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund, which now appears to be his final game this season.
