Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, expressed his frustration after a challenging match against Nottingham Forest. His team faced three penalty calls that didn't go their way.
Frank was particularly puzzled by the referee's decision not to penalize Forest's goalkeeper, Matt Turner, for a challenge on Yoane Wissa.
Quoted by the Daily Mail, Brentford's coach said: "I’m just so annoyed talking about VAR. With the handball situations, some managers will say “penalty” but I won’t. I would really hate it if that is given against my team."
"But on the flipside, the Wissa one is a clear penalty. You can’t go through the man. Unfortunately, that’s a mistake from VAR as it’s clear and obvious. ‘Maybe our players are too honest. Maybe they need to be more nasty, but I’ll never say that to them. I like honest players."
Despite taking the lead and playing against 10 men for almost half of the match, Brentford couldn't secure a victory as the match ended with a 1-1 score.
