David Moyes had some kind words for Jarrod Bowen, praising him for how he responded to offensive chants from Luton's fans about his girlfriend, Dani Dyer. During West Ham's win that put them at the top of the table, the 26-year-old winger faced inappropriate songs directed at his girlfriend.
Luton’s fans chanted: "Jarrod Bowen, your girlfriend’s a w****" In response, Bowen scored West Ham's first goal and celebrated by shushing the home fans with his finger. Moyes saw this as the perfect way to silence the detractors and appreciated Bowen's response.
Moyes said after their win: "What do you do? You go and you score and you know that answers the questions. Players get criticism, managers do as well, and people get away with it."
Moyes added: "Jarrod took his goal well. He was always a threat. He’s started the season in good goalscoring form."
