Andy Carroll signs a deal with French club, it is the first time playing overseas for him

Andy Carroll is embarking on a new adventure in his football career. After a season with Reading that ended with relegation to League One, the former England international is making a move abroad.

Reports confirm that Carroll has signed a deal with French club Amiens. This surprising move sees him playing alongside former Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta.

For Carroll, this marks his first experience of playing outside of England. At 34 years old, he's had a journey through various English clubs, including Newcastle and Liverpool, where his big-money move in 2011 didn't quite live up to expectations.

He then spent seven years at West Ham before an emotional return to Newcastle in 2019.

His recent stints at Reading and West Brom have kept him in the spotlight, especially for a controversial challenge on Christian Eriksen in the FA Cup
