West Ham soar to Premier League's top spot after three games as things stand

West Ham have beaten Brighton 3-1 away from home and with seven points from the opening three games have claimed the top spot in the Premier League.

The Hammers were amazing on counterattacks and could have scored more goals, although to Brighton's credit, they were offensively very solid but goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was on top of his game.

Ultimately, Brighton got Moyes'ed as they ended up with 80% of possession and twice as many shots but lost by a two-goal margin.

In previous games, David Moyes's team drew against Bournemouth and smashed Chelsea 3-1.

Liverpool and Man City could still be first in the league standings come the end of the matchday but whatever happens, this is a very impressive start for West Ham who had a slow summer and a rumoured conflict between head coach Moyes and sporting director Tim Steidten.

With the conflict seemingly over, new players started to come in and have already made an impact: James Ward-Prowse, in particular, has been a stunning addition.
