James Ward-Prowse set to ditch one-club man status and sign for European winners

As reported by The Athletic, West Ham United are trying to sing James Ward-Prowse from Southampton as soon as possible.

Southampton want the 28-year-old midfielder to play in the match against Norwich City on Saturday, but it's becoming more likely that this could be his last game for the club.

Earlier this month, West Ham had offered £27m plus a further £3m in add-ons which Southampton turned down. The deal might happen if West Ham agrees to pay the requested price of approximately £32 million.

Ward-Prowse has spent his entire professional career at Southampton, coming up from the club's academy. Throughout his 13 years at St. Mary's, the 28-year-old has played 410 games, scoring 55 goals and providing 54 assists.
