Sandro Tonali, an Italian midfielder, recently completed his move from AC Milan to Newcastle in a reported €70 million deal.
On Tonali's first day at the club, a video captured Trippier chatting with him, warmly welcoming him to the team and offering assistance in settling in. The footage shows Kieran Trippier sharing his own experience of moving to a different country, as he did when he joined Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
Trippier said: "If you need any help, I’m always here. Just to help you settle, I know how hard it is to move to a different country so I’m here if you any help, about the city, the team, or anything, I’m here. I want to make you feel welcome."
Speaking to Tonali’s partner, Trippier added: "Especially for you, because my wife struggled in Spain. The quicker you settle, the quicker he settles so that’s the most important thing."
