England win Euro U21 championship without conceding a single goal, Man City keeper saves penalty at 90+9'

England have won the Euro under-21 Championships after defeating Spain 1-0 in a keenly contested encounter.

The Young Lions were dominant in defence during the tournament winning the trophy without conceding a goal in six games.

In the final, Liverpool's Curtis Jones was awarded the winning goal after a free-kick from Man City's Cole Palmer deflected off his back and went in.

However, England were almost undone when Chelsea's Levi Colwill gave away a penalty deep into extra time.

Fortunately for England and sadly for Spain Braga's Abel Ruiz saw his spot-kick saved by Man City goalie James Trafford. The Burnley-bound goalkeeper also kept out the rebound to secure the title for England.

This is the first time England are winning the Euros at this level in 39 years. It's also their third title.
