Ben Chilwell ruled out for rest of the season, Chelsea identify potential replacement

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has been ruled out for the rest of the 2021/22 season after suffering a knee injury, the club has confirmed.

This would mean that Thomas Tuchel’s side only has Marcos Alonso as their available left-back right now.

According to reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues have already identified a replacement for Chilwell.

They are eyeing to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne on loan until the end of the season.

Digne has fallen out with manager Rafa Benitez and would be willing to move to Stamford Bridge in January.

Chelsea are currently 3rd on the Premier League table, 6 points behind league leaders Man City.
