Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola is in touching distance of guiding Man City to another Premier League title on Sunday (May 19).
The Cityzens just need to defeat West Ham United to win their fourth successive league title. It will also be their sixth Premier League title in eight years under Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola has an astonishing managerial record. That is because the Barca legend has NEVER finished outside the top 3 in a single league season since he started his coaching career.
In his first managerial stint as Barca B boss, Pep was able to guide the reserves to finish in first place in the Tercera División Grupo V.
He won three La Liga titles as Barca manager before the Blaugrana finished in second place in his last season (2011/12). Guardiola guided Bayern Munich to three back-to-back Bundesliga titles in his years in Germany.
Departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently took time to hail Guardiola’s incredible consistency as a manager, especially in his time at Man City. He said: “Everybody knows about the 115 charges, but I have no clue what that means.
"No matter what has transpired at Man City, Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world. If you put any other manager in that club, they don’t win the league 4 times in a row.”
Even though many Barca fans dream of Pep replacing Xavi as the manager next season, Guardiola has already confirmed that he’ll remain at Man City until the end of the 2024/25 season.
