Barca's plan for all 4 left-backs explained in 30 seconds

Barcelona have four defenders deployed at left back this season.

Here's the Catalans' summer plan for all of them, as revealed by top source Alex Pintanel.

Marcos Alonso. The 33-year-old mostly warmed the bench this season, clocking just 389 minutes of playing time across all competitions. He's set to bid farewell to Camp Nou as his contract expires in June.

Hector Fort. Naturally a right-back, the 17-year-old showcased his versatility by occasionally playing on the left flank under Xavi. In fact, he did so well that the board now consider utilizing him only as LB in the future.

Alex Balde. With his contract at Camp Nou running until 2028, the youngster is sure to stay at the club next season. However, the Catalans are reportedly seeking to use a more seasoned player as a starter.

Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese stepped in for the injured Balde and did a fairly good job throughout the season. This is why Barca are hoping to keep him at the club – either re-signing him on loan from Man City or sealing a permanent move for Joao.

However, If Barca can't hold onto Cancelo, they'll have to scout for another experienced left-back elsewhere.
