Gundogan–Araujo conflict settled: 'Took no more than a minute'

As Barcelona players rejoined training ahead of the Real Madrid game, there was a conflict brewing in the dressing room.

It was about Ilkay Gundogan openly criticising Ronald Araujo for picking up a red card against PSG, saying that his sending-off basically cost the Catalans the tie. The Uruguayan replied that he has 'codes and values' that must be respected.

The conflict ended on amicable terms — and very quickly. "It didn't take more than a minute of conversation to clarify the statements," a source in the dressing room is quoted by Relevo.

The report adds that Gundogan is considered a 'captain without the armband' at Barcelona due to his leadership skills.
