For the first time this season, Xavi has named Mikayil 'The Monster' Faye in his matchday squad ahead of Barca's game against Mallorca later today.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barca have received some tempting offers to sell Faye this year despite the fact he's yet to feature for the senior team in a competitive game.
Romano says OGC Nice in France offered Barca €9m to let the defender go in January but the Blaugrana said no to the tempting offer.
Barca could've made a €7.5m profit on what they spent on Faye if they'd taken the offer from Nice. But the calculation is that they would make even more when the player eventually matures and takes his opportunity in the first team.
Faye has been performing brilliantly for Barca Athletic team and has shown he has the positional sense to defend and score goals.
Barcelona signed the talented Senegalese centre-back from Croatian side NK Kustosija Zagreb last summer. The Blaugrana scooped him for less than €2m.
