One player likely to leave Man City in 2024 – he could slot into Barca's problematic position

Kalvin Phillips is 'very likely' to leave Manchester City in 2024, reports Fabrizio Romano.

With Rodri and John Stones as his competitors for the starter spot, the Englishman doesn't receive enough game time for Pep Guardiola's team. He looks to become a regular starter elsewhere.

The defensive midfielder remains a starter for England's national team. His strong attributes include tackling and intercepting the ball. He also likes to play long balls.

Kalvin could be a good fit at Barcelona. The club are looking for a defensive midfielder who could ease the burden off Oriol Romeu who has suffered a dip in form lately.

Phillips' current deal with Man City expires only in 2028. However, he should be quite affordable to Barcelona, with his estimated value standing at €28m.
