Barcelona will go for Busquets' successor, not Parejo – multiple sources

Barcelona will go for Oriol Romeu, reports Alex Pintanel.

The experienced Girona player is the chosen one to succeed Sergio Busquets.

Barca prefer Romeu to Dani Parejo because of his defensive ability, according to Adrian Sanchez. The coaching staff believe the latter is more of an attack-minded player.

Oriol Romeu's release clause is €10m. However, Blaugrana will try to lower it, possibly through a player swap.

Last season, Romeu was a key player for Girona who finished 10th in La Liga. He scored 2 goals along the way.

Romeu was part of La Masia from 2004 to 2011. He later played for Chelsea, Valencia, Stuttgart and Southampton.
