2 Barca players nominated for 2023 Golden Boy award, one of them could make history

Gavi and Alejandro Balde have been named among 100 candidates for the 2023 Golden Boy award.

Jamal Musiala, Jude Bellingham and Xavi Simons are the other favourites to win the prize.

Gavi could make history by winning the accolade for the second-straight year. If he or Balde wins it, this will also mean that Barca players will do it three times in a row after Pedri in 2021 and Gavi in 2022.

One more Barca player to win it was Leo Messi in 2005.

Golden Boy is the top prize for players under the age of 21. The award was established in 2003.
