Barcelona have identified two more alternative defensive midfielders who could be Sergio Busquets’ successor at the club, claims Sport.
One of them is Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, who helped them to a top-10 finish last season. He is valued at around €50m by the Premier League side.
Another one is Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, who has impressed them with his performances too. He has a €120m release clause, but Barca feels that the Portuguese club could sell him for much less than that.
Palhinha made 40 appearances for Fulham last season, scoring four goals. He is known for being an aggressive, proactive midfielder who thrives in winning duels and can protect the backline.
Luis made 45 appearances for Benfica in the previous campaign and is known for his tackling as well as his interception ability.
Barca are also considering some more options to succeed Busquets, including Ruben Neves and Sofyan Amrabat.
