Al-Khelaifi says he only wants to see 'parisians' in future PSG squad – what it means for Messi

"We are here for the long haul. We will have the best training centre in the world. My goal for the next few years is to have only Parisian players in our team. The best in our region deserve to play for PSG. This is the goal," Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has told the media, as per RMC.

By saying this, Al-Khelaifi confirms that the Parisians would probably change their transfer strategy starting from 2023. The shiny PSG project with exceptional players like Leo Messi or Sergio Ramos was partly created for advertising Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup. When the competition is over, the club's financing will possibly be less generous.

Players whose contracts expire in 2023 - Messi, Ramos, Paredes and some others - will likely leave to be replaced with French stars like Christopher Nkunku or Moussa Diaby.
