Pochettino to make classy gesture for Thiago Silva in his last game for Chelsea

Thiago Silva has announced his departure from Chelsea at the end of the season. The Brazilian will not extend his contract with the Blues.

Ben Jacobs reports that the veteran defender will wear the captain's armband in Chelsea's last game of the season, a home clash against Bournemouth on May 19. Obviously if he's fit for the game, after suffering a groin injury against Aston Villa.

If true, it's a very classy gesture from Mauricio Pochettino to mark the centre-back's four years at the Bridge.

Thiago Silva was stripped of his armband last summer. Poch insisted on having a captain group consisting of English players, with Reece James as the skipper and Conor Gallagher and Ben Chilwell as vice-captains.
