'We need to bring experienced players': Pochettino wants Chelsea transfer strategy change

Chelsea have spent £1bn during the Todd Boehly ownership so far. The club has predominately bought young players with a lot of potential.

This hasn't worked well results-wise, with the Blues languishing in the middle of the Premier League table. Chelsea have the youngest squad in the league and Mauricio Pochettino says that older players will need to join in the summer.

The Argentine said, as quoted by the Evening Standard: “We can keep going in the same way with the policy [to sign young players].

“But in the squad, we have Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Bettinelli. Maybe Marcus isn’t playing but he does a fantastic job helping the young guys.

“We have experienced players in the squad. It is not going against the project to have some players who are helping the young guys to perform, to be professional, and to understand what it means to be in the Premier League and to be at Chelsea."

"We need to bring some experienced players this summer and also more young players," Poch added, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

"That is all about talking with the club and analysing and to design the strategy for the next season and go fight for big things."
