'He's a player we need to discuss': Pochettino on Thiago Silva's future

Against Sheffield United on Sunday, Thiago Silva made his first Chelsea appearance in two months. The Brazilian marked the occasion by scoring but the Blues ended up drawing the game 2-2.

The veteran centre-back's contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino said of Thiago Silva's future: "It's a thing that, at the moment, we are not talking about the future of the player in the squad.

"We are competing and that is a decision for sure the club needs to ask and we need to talk and agree the future of the squad at the end of the season. Of course, he is one of the players we need to discuss.

"At the moment, so far, there is nothing. At the moment, we didn't discuss."
