'Shit happens': Palmer & more Chelsea players send messages to Sterling on social media

Raheem Sterling put in an awful performance against Leicester in Chelsea's 4-2 victory in the FA Cup. It wasn't just the Englishman's worst game in the Blues shirt — it's a contender for the worst-ever display for a Chelsea player in recent history.

The 29-year-old took to social media after the game to apologise for his display. He posted on Instagram: "I’ll be back 10x times stronger to help the team win and continue to keep fighting for the badge every single day 🔵🔵 Let’s Go Blues".

Several Chelsea players have commented on his post, showing support to the forward. Many simply posted emojis such as "💙" but several players have written words of support, too.

Cole Palmer: "💙 my brother. shit happens no need to apologise gg"

Noni Madueke: "Bro no need to apologise.. we appreciate you g 🤞🏾💙"

Malo Gusto: "Big bro no need to apologise"

Enzo Fernandez: "Come on raz 💙🤜🏼🤛🏼😉"

Carney Chukwuemeka: "My big brother💙💙💙"

Ben Chilwell: "Its football, it happens. We all appreciate you brother. 💙"

Thiago Silva: "We love you bro 💙💙💙🙏🏽🙏🏽"

Trevoh Chalobah: "We love you brother, one family 💙💙"
