Fulham to pay ₤4m for Armando Broja loan — it may not be good news for Chelsea

In January, Chelsea and Fulham agreed a loan deal for Armando Broja that included a clause: if the striker plays 60% of the games during his time at Fulham, there would be no loan fee.

However, less than two months later, it is already mathematically impossible for Broja to reach that threshold. On Saturday, he was left out of the squad for the game against Tottenham.

It means that Fulham will need to pay a ₤4m compensation to Chelsea. The Blues are unlikely to be happy about the situation, though.

In January, they quoted £50million as the price of a permanent move for Broja. Having failed to leave a mark at Craven Cottage so far, Broja has likely seen his value depreciate by far more than ₤4m.
