Chelsea are still being linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen even though it is clear that his transfer would not be easy.
The Nigerian's current contract with Napoli has a release clause of over £100 million.
ExpectedChelsea on X believes that the 25-year-old cannot be worth this much and urges Chelsea to avoid an unnecessarily large transfer splash.
"The more I watch Osimhen, the more I am convinced it's another Caicedo situation," the fan tweeted.
"He's a very good player no doubt, but he's playing for a media-savvy club that has expertly used briefings to inflate his price tag. He is NOT worth what is being quoted.
"His body of work beyond his title season at Napoli is not convincing enough to warrant the price tags being mentioned.
"I can build on this a lot more but this is what it comes down to - he's a 25/26-year-old who has not shown enough to warrant 100m.
"I wish clubs were smarter. Italians, Brighton and the sort hype everyone they have - their business model relies on fooling richer clubs. Hell, even Lautaro Martinez gets linked to big clubs. Do NOT take the bait.
"This is not to call Osimhen a bad player, not at all. If he was available in the 50-70m ballpark, I'm sure he'd be my No.1 option. I can go up to 80m even. But 100m, with his record? You're kidding me. Learn from Caicedo, don't let your desperation lead you to overpaying."
