Fulham set to pay Chelsea £4 million in Broja deal – here's why

Fulham will pay Chelsea £4 million unless Armando Broja starts every game for them until the end of the season.

Broja joined Fulham on loan in the winter transfer window, with his deal running till the end of the season.

Chelsea agreed an unorthodox deal with Fulham whereby they would pay the Blues nothing if Broja started 60% of their remaining matches, which were 16 at the time.

The idea was that Broja's value would increase if he makes a significant impact during his loan spell and if he doesn't, at least Chelsea would be compensated.

So far Broja has started 0 games for Fulham and scored 0 goals. With first-choice striker Rodrigo Muniz in fine form, it is highly unlikely that Broja will get many starts from now until the end of the season.
