Silva, Nkunku & more: latest Chelsea injury updates and potential return dates

Chelsea have been plagued with injury problems all through the 2023/24 season and Mauricio Pochettino has not been able to work with his full squad for a lengthy period.

The Blues missed quite a few players in their recent 2-2 draw against Brentford, which ended in frustrating fashion.

However, Chelsea could see the return of a few injured players before the March international break as we look at the latest injury updates and possible return dates.

The Englishman is making progress on his recovery from hamstring surgery and should be able to feature in the final stretch of the campaign. He will, however, need to work hard to play in the matches before the international break.

Thiago seems to have recovered from his injury problem, but needs to work on attaining utmost fitness before he can be back in the Chelsea starting XI. He is, however, a candidate to make a return soon.

The full-back has been out of action for the last few months due to an ankle injury, but he is now also back in training and raring to contribute in the final stretch.

Pochettino claimed that it’ll take a few weeks for Nkunku to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained last month. There is still no time frame on when he will be back, but he should feature in the final months of the campaign.

Lavia has been troubled with injuries all through his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge and is yet to rejoin training.

The Frenchman is still training on his own to regain full fitness after suffering an ACL injury in pre-season. He could actually play a part in the final few matches of the campaign.
