Chelsea doctor to leave club after 22 years as Boehly upheaval continues

The restructuring of Chelsea's medical department is almost done, reports the Evening Standard's Nizaar Kinsella.

Physiotherapist Steve Hughes is set to leave the Blues at the end of February after 22 years working for the club.

Chelsea expect to hire a couple more specialists before the end of the season in order to prevent more injuries in the future.

Several staff members who held their positions for a long time have been sacked under the ownership of Todd Boehly. Previously, head physiotherapist Thierry Laurent and medical director Paco Biosca were sacked over Zoom calls after 17 and 11 years at Chelsea, respectively. There have also been several other departures in the medical department.
