Besiktas manager Fernando Santos has revealed that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly had tried to offer them three transfers in the winter transfer window.
He said: “Chelsea President Todd Boehly says, ‘Let’s give Malang Sarr. You make a deal. We have Colley as a left stopper. How can I play two left-handed centre-backs?
“Chelsea are also offering Deivid Washington to Beşiktaş. They are also offering Andrey Santos. We don’t need to buy anyone unless they are very extra players.”
It turns out that Boehly tried his best to organize loan move for Sarr, Washington and Santos – but was only able to finalize the one for the latter in the end.
Santos ended up getting loaned out to RC Strasbourg, while the other two are still with Chelsea and hope to get some game-time for the rest of the campaign.
