Chelsea were prepared to listen to offers for Trevoh Chalobah who did not play a single game for the Blues this season due to an injury.
However, as he has not recovered fully yet, no potential suitor wanted to take a risk with the 24-year-old.
As a result, Chalobah will stay at Stamford Bridge until the summer — and Chelsea decided that he might as well help them in the remainder of the season.
According to Graeme Bailey, Chalobah will be reintegrated into Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
Fabrizio Romano adds that the versatile defender 'is now prepared to fight' for his place at Chelsea.
Despite all of that, even if Chalobah plays regularly for the Blues before the summer, his fate is still uncertain as selling him would generate the club some pure profit they desperately need to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
