Harry Redknapp has lavished praise on Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres amid reports that Chelsea had a £73 million bid for him rejected, with the club holding out for £86 million.
The Swede has already scored 13 goals and has 8 assists in 17 league games this season. He also led Coventry to a playoff final with 21 goals and 12 assists last season.
“I watched him last year scoring goals for fun," Redknapp said about his time at Coventry. "You thought what a goalscorer and what a finisher.
“[Clubs] sit on the fence and are scared to make a judgement. Yes, take him," says Redknapp.
"He’s good enough. He’ll score goals. He scored at Coventry, he’ll score goals anywhere.
“No, he’s got to go somewhere else and then they’ve got to pay four times the money. There’s talent about down there.”
