Three Chelsea players expected to leave in January window – Romano (reliability: 5 stars)

Chelsea are likely to clear up a bit of their squad in the January transfer window and issue a number of exits in January.

As per Fabrizio Romano, three Chelsea players are expected to be departed before the end of the winter window.

Trevoh Chalobah is set to depart after not getting game-time his season. Bayern Munich aren’t interested in him anymore, but something can happen in the second half of January.

Chelsea will also recall David Datro Fofana from his loan at Union Berlin and then move him to another club for the second half of the season. Sevilla are interested and have already made a proposal to take him in.

The Blues are also in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for the possible departure of Ian Maatsen, who is pushing to join the German club.

Chelsea have a really bloated squad, which is why they’re prioritizing exits in the January window to open up space for new signings.
