Carney Chukwuemeka has returned to full training, Chelsea have confirmed via their Twitter account.
The teenager has been unavailable for over four months with a knee injury sustained back in August.
The midfielder has featured just twice so far this season, scoring once against West Ham in a 3-1 defeat — and picking up an injury in that game.
The Englishman's return would be a welcome boost for Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea are going through an injury crisis that feels permanent this season.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, the Argentine said that Chukwuemeka and Chilwell, who's also returned to team training, won't be in the squad against Preston. However, the duo might get involved in the next week's games against Middlesbrough and Fulham.
