Chelsea target who scored 21 league goals last season breaks silence on interest from Blues

Chelsea have reportedly been interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP.

The striker helped Coventry to a play-off spot in the Championship last season, which prompted Sporting to spend a club record €20m to sign him.

When asked about interest from other clubs, Gyokeres seems to be uninterested in a move.

“I think it’s a bit like when Sporting came in to sign me… I’m very happy here and I don’t care about any interested parties at the moment.

“I’m enjoying every day here and not thinking about what’s going on around me. Yes, there’s talk of big clubs, but for now it’s just news. That’s all.”

On being asked to promise Sporting fans he’d stay, he replied: “Yes. This is where I want to stay.”
