Chelsea identify alternative to Osimhen & Toney for January window — 15 goals in 18 games

Chelsea are looking to sign a striker in the winter transfer window. However, according to the Guardian, landing either of their top targets — Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney — is impossible.

The Blues will have to pay a lot of money while also offering the Nigerian or the Englishman huge wages. This will see the club break the Financial Fair Play rules.

So an alternative has emerged and it's the Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres. The 25-year-old has 14 goals and 5 assists in 17 appearances across all competitions so far.

The Swede joined Sporting this summer on a €24m (£20.5m) fee. It's not clear how much the Portuguese side will demand for Gyokeres but he won't come cheap, either.

Curiously, the striker played for Brighton. He spent three years with the Seagulls, making just eight appearances in-between various loans.
