Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana is struggling to find his feet away on loan at Union Berlin. The Ivorian is yet to score an official goal at his new club after nine appearances.
Recent ratings of his performances have put him slightly below average so far. Explaining what's gone wrong, Union Berlin sporting director Oliver Ruhnert pointed at the club's poor run of form and some personal problems faced by the young player.
“Changing the [bad] results is not that easy for a young player,” Ruhnert said.
“He also had private problems at times. A little something came together. He also lacks a bit of goal to give him self-confidence.”
Union Berlin have lost their last seven games in a row and are currently 13th in the German Bundesliga.
If Fofana doesn't pick up form soon enough, his career at Chelsea will continue to hang in the balance.
With Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja already picking up form, plus Christopher Nkunku still to come, Datro Fofana may find it difficult to command regular football at Chelsea.
