'Ain't hearing this excuse': Fan explains why Poch wrong to blame injuries for Chelsea woes

Chelsea are on just five points after five opening league games, definitely not the start Mauricio Pochettino envisioned.

Speaking after the Bournemouth draw, the Argentine said that the squad has too many injuries and it's because of that Chelsea are not getting the results they want.

But a Blues fan nicknamed Vdyk argues that Poch is wrong to blame injuries for Chelsea's under-performance.

He tweeted: "I ain’t hearing the injuries excuse, we have more than adequate quality to back these players up bar a few players.

"Nkunku - 100% nailed on starter, can’t really replace his quality.

"Broja - Isn’t a starter and hasn’t played in a year now. Hasn’t really made an impact on the team just yet so you can’t really “miss” him in that sort of way.

"James - 100% nailed on starter but Gusto is a fantastic player.

"Fofana - Wasn’t gonna play this year regardless.

"Chukwuemeka - Brilliant player but not a starter.

"Chalobah - Always been a rotation option from day 1.

"Badiashile - With Levi in the squad, he’s not a nailed on starter. The quality of Colwill & Silva to fill his place is more than adequate •

"Caicedo - Like Nkunku, I don’t think he can be replaced so I’ll hear this once. Ugochukwu is a good player but he isn’t anywhere near Caicedo’s level •

"Lavia - Hasn’t even made his debut so how can you blame us not having him? You can’t miss something you don’t have

"Bettinelli - Do I even have to explain this one? •

"Madueke - Brilliant player yet again but Sterling has been better & we have Palmer to also fill in, it’s more than enough quality •

"Cucurella - We don’t play with actual LB’s anyways it seems so why even argue it?

"So overall, only Nkunku, Caicedo & maybe James (but not really because Gusto is a REALLY good backup) are the ones that you can actually say have a spot in this team — what are the excuses now?

"A reality check is needed, I ain’t calling for Poch’s head, but he needs to work on something new so we can gain more control in these games. We’re giving teams too many chances to feel like they can get into the game."
